This is a used Vintage 1979 Ross Professional Super Gran Tour Bicycle. Bike was manufactured in Allentown PA, USA of lugged, brazed and tempered 1020 (medium carbon) steel tubing. Unique to Ross bicycle was their "salt bath brazing" method of frame building, where the during the manufacturing process the bikes lugs would be fused in a bath of red hot molten salt and then quenched in a cold water bath. The bike features relatively thick tube sets to provide ample stiffness and response under power yet still has that sweet steel ride quality. This particular bike is in good operating condition and has been fully tuned by one our stores mechanics. The frame is in ok aesthetic condition with the decals having slightly deteriorated over the years and there being some small scratches on the frame particularly on the drive side chain stay. There are no dents, dings, or bends in the frame that we could see, there is some very minor surface corrosion in ares where the pain has chipped but it's only aesthetic, not structural.
