Details

This is an antique 1890's mens bicycle.  No known manufacturer, as the headbadge is missing.  The bicycle has wooden rims, which are in decent shape. The frame is an interesting piece - Unistay chainstays and seatstays, same size tubing for most of the bike.  There are no seatpost clamps - the seatpost has an internal wedge type device similar to the stem that locks it in place.

Fixed gear skiptooth drivetrain, with a block style chain.  The chainring has 6 arms and straight cranks.

Pedals are mismatched.
Very nice, very short cork and leather grips seem original, but both have a large crack.
Troxel saddle (Scout?) saddle is in good shape, but has some blown seams - overall good shape though.
Stem and bars have no nickel.
Seatpost is missing most of the nickel.
The pneumatic tires are shot.
No nickel on rear hub, front hub is still slightly shiny.
Missing one rear axle adjuster

Color:
Under all the rust color, there is some black, and under the black, some silver.  But in some places the silver color is shiny nickel.  So, our guess is that this bike was either totally nickeled and then painted black, or the rear stays were just nickeled...  Not much to go on, but see pictures.
rims - the front rim has some red on it, but is missing most of the paint.  Not sure if original.  The rear is missing most of the paint.

Measurements:
Seat Tube - center to top:  24"
Top Tube (center to center): 23"

**We have not taken apart this bicycle and do not know if any of the items (crank, seatpost, stem) are frozen in the frame.

Serial #302320
