Details
This auction is for (what we believe to be) a 1920's Schwinn Motobike.
This bike looks like a 20's Motorbike, but there is no fork truss - very similar to the earlier Schwinn Worlds. The unique bar and 5 heart chainring, along with the 28" wooden rims, should make this bike fairly easy to date and figure out the model, but there is very little information on bikes similar to this pre 1930.
The bike was blue - there are few spots that still show through, but most of the bike is rust color. Under the cracking blue paint on the front fork are the remnants of red. So, red bike repainted blue? The head tube seems to be a grey primer type color - originally white? Very hard to tell with the condition of the paint.
*Frame has a crack at the juncture of the midtube and the down tube - see pictures
*We sent the bike to a local framebuilder who repaired the crack in the downtube/midtube junction.
*Missing on of the chain adjusters on the drive side
*Rear fender has been remounted, which left the original hole a little further back from the brake bridge
No chainguard or rack
