Details
1946 Schwinn Tourist, with a headbadge from LaSalle, Chicago Cycle Supply. We acquired this bicycle from the original owner. It has been stored indoors and not ridden in many years. It's a beautiful example of a post-war Schwinn. We believe everything on the bicycle is original, with the exception of the seatpost bolt. Although the paint is in great shape for a bike that is 70 years old, there are scratches and surface rust. The chrome on the handlebars, stem and trusses is in good shape, with some scratches and surface rust. The chrome on the rims should clean up nicely with some fine grit steel wool. Both fenders have some bends and dents, though they are in great shape overall. The original leather on the saddle is worn and shows some discoloration near the nose where the owner had used masking tape to hold it in place. The frame is free of cracks and dents. This is being sold as is, and will need some attention from a qualified mechanic before riding, but is an excellent show piece as it stands. It will require some reassembly after shipping.
