Details
This is a vintage used Rudge Ladies Sports 3 speed bicycle. This bicycle was manufactured in 1965 in Nottingham England. The Rudge was "Brittains Finest Bicycle" according to the chain guard (hockey style). Rudge at this point in time was actually a subsidie of Raleigh bicycles (technically they were all owned by TI or Tube Investments), which was a large conglomerate of British bicycle manufacturing companies. This bike is very similar to it's other British Sports equivilents, which some minor difference, most notably the Wrights as saddle as apposed to Brooks saddle. Otherwise the bike shares many of the same features including the Phillips Vox Populi brakes and Sturmey Archer AW 3 speed shifting system. Both aesthetically and mechanically this bike is in pretty nice shape. The paint does have some scratches and scrapes here and there but nothing more than you would expect from 40+ year old bike. The shifting could use an overhaul but the remainder of this bike is overall functional for daily riding. Please see photographs for details.
