This is a used vintage all chrome Raleigh Sports Ladies model bicycle.
This bike dates to 1966 (Sturmey Archer AW 3 speed Rear hub dates "66"). Bike is completely chromed, from the frame and fork to the fenders and chain guard. From what information we've been able to obtain from various sources these models were given to dealers who excelled in sales, or as a more expensive display/showcase model. The bike features a Brooks B72 honey leather saddle, a rather clever Mickey Mouse bell by Reich bells of Germany, large wicker basket and an original 1971 owners license plate. Original components and accessories include the Raleigh Signature "Heron" head set lamp mount, Phillips brake levers and calipers, Sturmey Archer 3 speed Trigger, chromed steel handlebars, stem and seat post. Union pedals are not original, nor are the black hunte-wild grips. This bike is in fully tuned and rideable condition, there is not rust on the frame and the chrome has collected a nice patina with time and lacks any pronounced pitting. This bike is best enjoyed with a bottle of fine wine and some gruyere cheese while picnicking in the Scottish highlands. Handlebars are slightly bent on the right hand side.
