You could be the proud owner of this vintage used Schwinn Varsity road bicycle. Built in Chicago, USA in December of 1970 this classic bike is quite clean and appears to have been customized early on in it's life into an upright cruiser with swept back handlebars and a springer saddle. This quality bike features 27" chrome wheels, front and rear generator lights and a 10 speed Schwinn drive train with dual derailleurs.

BIKE CODITION

The bike is nearly as it would have been right off the showroom floor in 1970 with some minor exceptions. The white paint job is still in good shape with typical wear, light corrosion and scratches for a bike of this age (most notably a section on the top tube- see photographs). The chrome is in good condition with little pitting to be found. The bike is free of major bends, dents and cracks. The tires appear to be the original Schwinn branded gum wall style and have some sidewall cracking but hold air.

This bike has been fully overhauled right down to re-greasing and packing of the bearings (hubs, bottom bracket and headset) by a shop mechanic with many years of experience. Then the bike was given a thorough eighty three point inspection by the owner. Finally the owner rides the bicycle in every gear checking steering, braking, and shifting. After you receive this bicycle minimal adjustments and assembly will be needed to be ready to ride.
