Details
You are buying a 1975 5-speed Huffy Tourist style bicycle. There is no direct proof of the bike being a Huffy - there are no real markings on the bike as it was painted a really rough lavender pink color. The paint was brushed on - lots of drips.
This bike features a Shimano Eagle rear derailleur on a 5-speed rear freewheel, on which the largest 2 cogs have fewer teeth than usual. The derailleur is controlled by a stem-mounted Shimano lever. This bike also has a Shimano Tourney front side-pull caliper controlled by Shimano levers. The bike also features north road handlebars, a black vinyl Troxel seat and a chain guard.
What really makes this bike exceptional - other than the color - is the rare Shimano rear disc brake. This disc brake is only 30 years ahead of its time. Very nice cable actuated brake - they also made a hydraulic model. The rotor is mounted on the non-drive side of the hub and is threaded on. A lockring also is used to prevent it from rotating off. Very similar to how an Arai drum brake is mounted. The brake works, although it will need some adjustment.
The paint has chipped in places and there is surface rust there. The components are slightly corroded, including the rims. The tires need to be replaced due to cracking but hold air. The seat and handlebar grips are in good shape and the pedals are in fair condition.
Everything works, and the bike is sold as is. We recommend a tune-up on all of our bikes after shipping.
