This is a vintage used 1978 Raleigh Tourist DL-1 bicycle.  In its time the Raleigh Tourist DL-1 was the only 28-inch wheel bicycle of its type sold in America. The Tourist, known as the policeman's bicycle, is used by the English Bobbies.  The limousine of bicycles, it gives you the smoothest, most comfortable ride you've ever had.  It's quality features include a comfortable Brooks leather saddle, wide ration Sturmey-Archer gears for easier uphill riding and unique rod brakes for safe dependable stops.  This bicycle is the 24" frame size for you taller riders out there and is pretty good shape although not completely original.  This bicycle was hand made in Nottingham England is a fine example of British steel.  The paint is in pretty good shape, unfortunately not all the parts are original or present.  The most prominently missing bit it the Tourist Dl-1 chain guard.  Outside of that it's mostly some off-spec parts, these include the non-drive side rear hub bolt which is a drive side hub chain pulley style and an Olympic 75 leather springer saddle as apposed to the stock Brooks saddle.  This bike has been professionally tuned by one our shops mechanics and once reassembled would be ready to ride.  Please see photographs for details.
