You are buying a 1986 Koga Miyata Traveler, a lightweight tourist bicycle made in Japan sometime between 1986-1987, dated by the Shimano components.  This bicycle features solid lugged chromium molybdynum steel construction similar to the style that dominated Europe in the 80's.  The Traveler is loaded with Japanese-made Shimano parts, detailed below, along with a Sakae Ringyo quill stem and a Tange Nova headset, both also Japanese made.  It also comes equipped with a Silca Impero frame pump (made in Italy), Esge ribbed fenders (German), sturdy front and rear racks, a bell, a water bottle holder, and a tire generator mounted on the rear wheel.  The wiring for the lamps is nicely routed through the fenders, using the metal as a conductor.  This bike's amazing looks owe to the fact that it's all original and color matched, save for the water bottle rack.

The rear fender bears a sticker for the Hagen Tweewielers bike shop in Wassenaar, Netherlands, indicating that the bike was sold there and brought over to the U.S.  This bike is in very nice to excellent shape.  The pearl paint looks pristine, the BMX-style grips are clean, and the components all look new.  The major exception is the pedals which are slightly dirty.  The tires, too, are beginning to crack.  See photographs for details.

This would be a perfect "Tourist" bicycle for someone who wants an excellent handmade, quality steel bicycle from Japan.
