You could be the proud owner of this 1996 Cannondale Super V Active full suspension mountain bike. This bike is not stock as several parts have been upgraded. The previous owner purchased the best aftermarket accessories of the 90s from Cook Bros Racing - levers, crank, seatpost, and seatpost collar. All are anodized. These parts were the best of the best from a time when the mountain bike boom was in full swing. All the Cook Bros parts show wear and a fade in the anodizing, but they still retain their original colors - blue and red. Cannondale + Cook Bros = 1990s at its best. This Super V 1000 had a Shimano LX based kit, but other upgrades have been done on the bike. Brakes have been upgraded to Shimano XT, The wheels have been upgraded to a monster Rhino Lite/Shimano Deore rear wheel and a Sun CR18/Shimano Deore front, Handlebars to a Titec Enduro, Titec Seat, Panaracer XC Fire tires. One of the biggest changes is the upgraded fork / headset. The basic fork (DD60) was replaced with a Marzocchi Bomber (in ORANGE!). The Bomber feels good and moves vertically well. The 1.5" head tube diameter has been reduced with a Race Face cartridge bearing kit. The Fox rear shock has a rebound adjustment. The R adjustment works well, and the shock holds air. The paint on the frame, fork, and swingarm are showing some use (quite a few scratches) but the matte blue is still a great color and show through well.

This bicycle has not been checked over by a mechanic and we definitely recommend a full tune-up before riding. The bike is not rideable as is.

** There are a few defects in the paint other than scratches. On the front headtube, some of the paint is starting to bubble. Also, some of the scratches are deeper than .5mm. see pictures.
** The front end has a "clunk/creak" when applying forward force with the front brake on. Not sure where the creak is coming from, but it could be coming from the reducer headset. It sounds like that area, but no movement was seen. The clunk could also be from the fork or even the headset itself.
** We did a thorough check of the entire bike and no cracks were found. We do not guarantee that there are no cracks but our inspection showed none.
