Trek’s 1.5 uses the same geometry and fit as its professional-level Madone, giving it a nimble feel and confident handling at high speed. The 100 Series Alpha aluminum frame is shaped for improved vertical compliant over previous versions, as well as subtle aero KVF (Kammtail Virtual Foil) shaping on the downtime. Rack, bottle and vanishing fender mounts add versatility to the 1.5. The carbon fiber fork soaks up vibration as well as reducing overall weight. Shimano’s 9-speed Sora shifters and derailleurs offer fingertip operation, while an FSA Vero compact crankset and wide range road cassette provide gearing for hilly escapades. Even toe clips and straps are found on the 1.5 for use with regular street shoes. Bontrager’s alloy wheels and tires smooth out broken pavement, while a new Paradigm saddle makes any ride a little more comfortable. An accessory-ready Bontrager Blendr stem has an attachment point for an optional computer, phone or light mount.
