Felt went all-out with the new Aero Road series for 2014, and the AR4 is a perfect example. A new aero shape formed from Felt’s own UHC Performance carbon fiber means a lighter, sleeker backbone for a more efficient machine. The exclusive InsideOut molding process reduces the need for excess resin, cutting frame weight significantly. A BB30 bottom bracket ensures flex-free power delivery and instant pedaling response. The head tube is tapered for sharper handling, but to a 1-1/8"-to-1-1/4" standard to keep the overall aero profile as slippery as possible. The fork itself is also an all-carbon construction, reducing weight further and soaking up road vibration. Internal cable routing keeps the AR4 as sleek as a Formula 1 racer.

Shimano’s new 11-speed Ultegra components are found throughout the drivetrain, including the 52/36T crankset, dual-control shifters, derailleurs and 11-25T cassette. The front brake is also an Ultegra multi-pivot unit, with a direct-mount caliper tucked under the bottom bracket. Shimano’s RS31 alloy wheels have a 30mm profile and straight-pull bladed spokes for slicing through the air. Shod with 23mm Vittoria Rubino Pro tires, the AR4 combines low rolling resistance with ultra-low drag. A Prologo Zero T2.0 saddle sits atop a Felt aero carbon VariMount seatpost for low drag and better ride quality than last year’s AR series. Even the handlebars have an tapered top section to cheat the wind.
