Technology, performance and style with a side order of comfort. The 2015 Trek Lexa SLX has everything. The engineers at Trek started with their propiatary 200 Series Alpha Aluminum material and shaped it into a flowing tubeset that reduces weight and keeps its strength: Perfect for steep climbs out of the saddle. Dealing with bumpy roads is what the SLX was built for in the first place, and the IsoSpeed decoupler found at the seat tube sets a new standard for comfort. By allowing the seat tube to flex independently, the Lexa SLX soaks up impacts and vibration better than any aluminum production road bike built today. The bike’s head tube is taller than the Trek 2-Series bikes in the same size to fit a wider range of riders. The head tube and fork are also tapered for a more precise feel in corners and fast descents. Useful details abound, including disappearing fender mounts, an aperture for a SpeedTrap speed sensor (sold separately) in the right fork leg and a reflective “seeglass” coating in the paint. The Lexa SLX has a size range for a wide variety of rider sizes, from 56cm to 44cm. Needing a small frame that doesn’t feel like skydiving off it when you get to a stoplight? The standover height of the 44cm is only 27 inches.

Shimano’s latest 11-speed 105 components are found throughout the Lexa SLX, including the adjustable-reach shifters, derailleurs, 11-32T cassette and chain. The Shimano RS500 50/34T compact crankset provides a wide gearing range for roller-coaster hills and steep ascents. Bontrager alloy tubeless-ready wheels are shod with 25mm R1 puncture-resistant tires for a smooth feel and confident cornering. A Bontrager Affinity 1 WSD saddle is a comfortable perch to view the road ahead, while shallow-drop Race VR-S handlebars and a Race Lite stem complete the cockpit of this quick and comfortable machine.
