A full-suspension cross-country race bike shouldn’t be a compromise, and Trek knows that. The Superfly FS 6 was built to provide performance as well as value, starting with a featherweight hydroformed Alpha Platinum aluminum frame. Forming the backbone of the aluminum Superfly FS series, the frame’s tapered head tube, press-fit bottom bracket and butted wall thicknesses ensure a rigid as well as nimble bike. Trek’s exclusive Active Braking Pivot -or ABP- rear suspension keeps the rear shock operational, instead of freezing up under braking on a treacherous descent. The Superfly FS’ Flow Molded carbon fiber swing link anchors the rear shock to resist torsional stress and ensure proper suspension response over a wide range of impacts and terrain. The rear shock is an air-adjustable RockShox Monarch RL, providing 100mm of suspension travel. The suspension fork is also a RockShox unit; an air-adjustable XC32 with a TurnKey lockout knob, adjustable rebound and 100mm of travel.

Shimano’s 10-speed Deore shifters are mated to front and rear Deore derailleurs for optimum mechanical operation and compatibility. An FSA 42/32/24T Comet crankset is matched with an 11-36T Shimano cassette for a wide gearing range to assist with roller-coaster singletrack. Shimano also supplies the hydraulic disc brakes for better lever feedback than cable-actuated discs. Bontrager’s alloy Mustang wheels are shod with 2.2"x29 XR1 tires providing confident grip in gravel-strewn trails. Bontrager also supplies the Race Lite alloy stem, Low Riser handlebar and SSR alloy seatpost. A Bontrager Evoke 1.5 saddle completes this race-ready machine.
