For all-day adventures, Giant’s Trance series offers confident control in a light and value-oriented package. The Trance 27.5 2 is an effective trail bike that uses Giant’s proven Maestro rear suspension mounted at the back of a hydroformed and butted ALUXX-SL aluminum frame. Light weight and impressive torsional strength in the Trance 27.5 3’s main frame combine to make it a capable climber as well as razor-sharp in the technical sections. The Trance’s OverDrive tapered head tube keeps the front end from feeling rubbery in rock gardens, while the PowrCore press-fit bottom bracket helps keep the crankset anchored for lightning-quick pedaling response. A Fox Float CTD (climb-trail-descend) Evolution rear shock is air-adjustable, providing 140mm of travel. An air-adjustable Fox Float CTD Evolution suspension fork keeps the front wheel planted with 140mm of travel, and the 15mm front Thru-axle adds extra precision in the turns.

Shimano 10-speed Deore shifters are mated to Shimano SLX derailleurs and a 24/38T SLX crankset for smooth operation, even in messy conditions. An 11-36T Shimano cassette provides a huge gearing range for hilly trails, while Shimano M615 hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm/160mm front and rear rotors reign in speed with ease. Giant’s own S-XC2 alloy wheels are shod with Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.25” aramid-bead tires for light weight and amazing grip, even in loose conditions. Giant also uses their own alloy Contact stem, seatpost, Low Rise handlebar and Contact saddle to complete the cockpit.
