Carbon fiber racing hardtails have seen advancements before, but Giant brings 27.5” wheels to the game. Using Giant’s own Advanced-grade composite material throughout the frame, the XTC Advanced 27.5 3 reduces weight, enhances torsional rigidity and soaks up vibration to make a nimble and effective racing platform. The XTC’s OverDrive tapered head tube helps in turn-in and during hard braking while navigating technical trails. The press-fit PowerCore bottom bracket anchors the crankset for flex-free power delivery, especially when charging uphill. Internal cable routing and an integrated seatpost clamp cleans up the XTC Advanced, making post-race cleanup easier. A RockShox Recon Gold RL air-adjustable suspension fork provides control and comfort at the front with 100mm of suspension travel and a PopLoc lockout for long climbs up jeep double-track. A 15mm thru-axle all but eliminates front wheel flex for precise handling. The XTC Advanced 27.5 3 is equipped with Shimano’s 10-speed Deore shifters, front derailleur and 24/38T crankset, while a Shadow+ SLX rear derailleur does rear shifting duties. An 11-36T cassette gives a massive gearing range for roller-coaster singletrack, while Shimano M447 hydraulic disc brake calipers clamp down on 160mm rotors for speed management. GIant’s own S-XC alloy double-wall wheels are laced with stainless steel spokes and are shod with 2.1” Schwalbe Racing Ralph tires for aggressive traction in a wide range of conditions. A Giant Connect seatpost, stem, Contact saddle and Connect XC alloy handlebar completes the cockpit of this off-road gladiator.
