Trek puts World Cup technology and a solid component package into the hands of first-time full suspension bike customers with the Superfly FS 8. Using the proven Active Braking Pivot suspension geometry, the Superfly FS 8 raises the game of cross-country riders on all terrains and trail conditions. Unlike so many other competitor’s bikes, the ABP Convert pivot is centered around the rear hub and keeps pedaling force and braking and suspension forces completely isolated. No “pedal bob” or “brake jacking” found here! The Superfly FS 8’s main triangle is made from Trek’s own hydroformed Alpha Platinum aluminum, producing a lightweight and torsionally rigid backbone. An E2 tapered head tube and press-fit bottom bracket also improve the bike’s maneuverability in rock gardens. Even the Flow Mold shock link is made from carbon fiber for improved suspension response. Fox’s air-adjustable Evolution Series Float rear shock provides 100mm of suspension travel, improving rear tire contact and overall control. Front suspension duties are handled by an air-adjustable Fox Evolution Series 32 Float fork. 100mm of suspension travel and a 15mm thru-axle keeps the front tire planted for maximum control.

The Superfly FS 8 is equipped with Shimano’s 10-speed SLX shifters, Deore front derailleur, XT Shadow Plus rear derailleur, SLX 38/24T crankset and 11-36T cassette. This component combination is more than ready to tackle multi-hour rides and cross-country races with equal ease. Shimano’s SLX hydraulic disc brakes provide ample stopping power. The Superfly FS 8’s alloy Mustang Elite tubeless-ready wheels are shod with XR1 tubeless-ready 29x2.2" Expert tires for light weight and confident grip. Bontrager brings more to the table with an Evoke 2 saddle, Elite alloy seatpost, Race Lite Low Riser handlebar and Race Lite stem.

A shock pump is included with the purchase of this bicycle for on-trail adjustment.
