The main frame is constructed of Trek’s own hydroformed Alpha Platinum aluminum for light weight, durability and rigidity in rough-and-tumble conditions. An E2 tapered head tube anchors the fork for precise handling in rock gardens, while a press-fit bottom bracket ensures instant pedaling response. Trek’s exclusive ABP -Active Braking Pivot- rear suspension keeps the rear wheel planted, even during hard braking on technical descents. A carbon Flow Mold swing link reduces weight and keeps torsional rigidity high for perfect suspension performance. Internal derailleur cable and dropper post cable routing gives the Superfly FS 9 a clean look as well as keeping cables happy. An air-adjustable RockShox Monarch RL rear shock offers 100mm of travel. Front suspension duties are covered by an air-adjustable RockShox SID RL fork with 100mm of travel, a 15mm thru-axle and a remote lockout lever. SRAM’s X1 single ring, 11-speed mountain drivetrain puts a focus on light weight by eliminating the front derailleur. A 32T front chainring and 10-42T 11-speed cassette offer a massive gearing range. Bontrager alloy tubeless ready Mustang Pro wheels feature Stacked Lacing for lateral rigidity. Bontrager XR1 tubeless ready 29x2.2" tires provide tenacious grip. Bontrager also brings an Evoke 3 saddle, alloy Elite seatpost, Low Riser handlebar and Race X Lite stem to the table.
