This cyclocross bike needs an owner that appreciates the history and heritage of fine bicycles. Bianchi bicycles have been around since 1886, and they know how to make a bike that handles well. Case in point: The Bianchi Cavaria. Covered in Bianchi’s distinctive Celeste, the Cavaria is a nimble, carbon-framed, race-capable machine. Even the fork is carbon fiber from steerer to dropouts. Shimano 10-speed Ultegra shifters and derailleurs offer smooth operation, even in messy coditions. Avid Shorty cantilever brakes give massive clearance for mud build-up, while an alloy FSA Energy 46/36T crankset provides an effective gearing range for ‘cross courses. Fulcrum 7 wheels are shod with Vittoria Cross XG Pro tires for a smooth ride and maximum grip. Useful touches include top-tube cable routing to keep cables clean, a seat tube mounted adjusting barrel for the front derailleur, a flattened top tube for shouldering the bike, and bottle mounts for long training days.
