Developed with the help of a World Cup Champion, the Boone 5 is a giant leap forward in cyclocross racing machines for Trek. Built with 600 Series OCLV carbon fiber, the frame employs several ingenious concepts beyond the incredible material technology. The seat tube/mast is connected to the top tube with an IsoSpeed pivot, allowing it to flex under vertical impacts, keeping the ride quality amazingly smooth. The fully carbon fiber fork also employs a custom layup to soak up rough courses more effectively. A massive BB90 bottom bracket anchors the crankset for instant pedaling response, while a tapered E2 head tube helps keep the handling sharp over root-infested trails. Useful details abound, like an integrated chain keeper mounted above the bottom bracket, internal cable routing, and electronic-ready ports for drivetrain upgrades.

Our in-stock example is equipped with 10-speed Shimano 105 drivetrain components at the derailleurs and dual-control levers. An FSA Energy alloy crankset runs a 46/36T chainring combination with a Tiagra 12-30T cassette for solid cyclocross gearing. Tektro alloy cantilever brakes possess effective stopping power and mud clearance. Bontrager alloy Race wheels are tubeless-ready, and are shod with 32mm CX3 Team Issue tires for confident grip in grassy and muddy conditions. A Bontrager Evoke 2 saddle, alloy Race handlebar, and Race Lite stem complete the cockpit.
