The CrossRip Comp is built around a 100 Series Alpha Aluminum frame for reduced weight and a nimble feel. The CrossRip’s Satellite Plus carbon fiber fork reduces weight further and sports low-rider mounts for fenders. Internal cable routing as well as rack, fender and bottle mounts let you equip the CrossRip Comp for whatever roads - or trails- you have planned. Shimano Claris 8-speed dual-control shifters operate Claris derailleurs across an FSA Vero 50/39/30T triple crankset and an 11-28T cassette. Carrying groceries up several steep hills? With gearing like that, the CrossRip Comp has your back! Reigning in speed on the way back down is the job of a set of Avid BB5R cable-operated disc brakes. Rain or mud on the rims won’t be a hazard since the brakes no longer need to use that as a contact point. Tektro bar-top brake levers make riding in traffic easier with an additional hand position for a drop-handlebar bike. Bontrager 32-spoke disc-specific wheels are shod with 32mm-wide H5 tires for effective grip and a smooth ride on rough and choppy pavement. Bontrager also supplies the Race Lite IsoZone drop handlebar, Blendr Elite alloy stem, SSR seatpost and Evoke 1 saddle.
