The Trek Domane has been a best-seller for us, but we've never had the flagship version in our store... until now. The Domane 6.9 is an entirely pro-level build.

Only the best components have been selected for the Domane 6.9, but the heart of this dream machine is the frame. Constructed of Trek's proprietary 600-Series OCLV carbon fiber, the Domane's frame is astonishingly light for a bike designed to take on the worst of the cobblestones of Paris-Roubaix or the Tour of Flanders. The bike's massive shaped downtube, wide bottom bracket and tall chainstays all demonstrate Power Transfer Construction; a shaping process that virtually eliminates torsional flex during hard pedaling loads. With input from Trek Factory Team rider Fabian Cancellara, the Domane can soak up more vibration and impact than its rivals due to precise construction and a unique IsoSpeed Decoupler found at the seat tube/top tube juncture. At the heart of the decoupler is a pair of cartridge bearings that allow the seat tube to move independantly of the top tube, producing better vertical compliance than traditional frame designs. This results in a fresher cyclist that can ride harder for longer, making faster century and "challenge" rides more acheivable. The handling of the Domane 6.9 is still very confidence-inspiring, especially on high-speed descents and sweeping bends. The all-carbon fork boasts a tapered steerer tube that enhances steering feel and reduces weight equally well. Every bike in the Domane line is built around Trek's Endurance geometry. A slightly taller head tube than Trek's H2 fit found on the Emonda and Madone is matched with a slightly shorter top tube, allowing the Domane to fit a wider range of riders and flexibilities. With useful touches like a 3S integrated chain keeper, an aperture for an ANT+ speed/cadence sensor (sold separately) in the left chainstay, internal cable routing and hidden fender mounts, the Domane 6.9 is ready for all challenges thrown its way.

The Domane 6.9 is equipped with Shimano's finest road component group: Dura-Ace Di2. With years of experience and refinement in the pro peloton, Shimano has improved upon the ground-breaking electronic shifting technology since releasing it 5 years ago. Battery life is improved, and the battery itself is now hidden away in the Domane's seat tube for a clean look. The component weights have gone down, and yet the shifting operation is faster and more refined. The Dura-Ace compact 50/34T crankset is lighter and stiffer for flex-free power transfer. The dual-control lever hoods have a smaller radius that allow smaller hands to fit better, while the levers still have an adjustable reach. Redesigned multi-pivot brake calipers provide better lever feedback, especially under hard braking. Even the Dura-Ace 11-28T cassette and asymmetrical chain offer smoother operation with longer service life. Battery life is 900-1000 miles between charges, and recharging is done at the junction box under the stem.

Bontrager supplies the Aeolus 3 D3 Tubeless Ready wheelset on the Domane 6.9. Tipping the scales at only 1348 grams, the OCLV carbon fiber wheelset is feather-light exactly where it needs to be: At the rotating mass of the bike. Making the wheels this light allows incredible acceleration and nimble handling never seen with alloy wheelsets. The 27mm wide D3 rim shape (19.5mm internal width) reduces suceptibility to crosswinds as well as improving tire-to-pavement contact. Tubeless-ready rims make for a quick move to tubeless tires, but can be run with traditional tubes. DT Swiss hub internals and star ratchet ensure long service life. There is no weight restriction with this wheelsetet. Bontrager's finest 25mm R4 Hard-Case Lite tires wrap the wheels and offer confident grip.

Bontrager also supplies the carbon-railed Paradigm XXX saddle, OCLV carbon Race X Lite IsoZone road handlebar, and XXX OCLV carbon stem.
