Paris-Roubaix is a cruel arena. When the cobblestone sectors of Mons-en-Pevele and Arenberg did unspeakable damage to the hopes of racers -not to mention their bicycles- it was chalked up to bad luck. But Trek said enough was enough, and decided to build a bike that would take on the worst of Northern France and come out the other end carrying a winner.

The Trek Domane is the result of that exhaustive research over 18 months and thousands of miles of real-world testing. Using Trek's exclusive 500 Series OCLV carbon fiber, the frame of the Domane 5.2 is a bicycle designed for long and difficult days over rough pavement and steep climbs. The frame and fork are surprisingly light, and yet remains rock-solid under hard pedaling. A slightly longer wheelbase is used, making the machine forgiving over expansion cracks and railroad tracks. Trek introduced the Endurance Fit geometry wih a slightly taller head tube, making the Domane an easy fit for a wider range of riders and flexibilties. Knowing that rough pavement and cobblestones can sap the energy from even the greatest pro racers, Trek added a new innovation to smoothing out the nightmarish pounding of cobblestones: IsoSpeed. The IsoSpeed decoupler is found at the top tube/seat tube juncture, and features a stainless steel pivot and a pair of cartridge bearings. The seat tube can pivot independently and soak up vibration better than any endurance bike made today. The Ride Tuned no-cut seat mast and cap replaces the usual seat post, saving weight and adding a bit more smoothness to the Domane's road feel. The carbon fiber seat cap is available in two lengths and two offsets for a perfect fit. The carbon fiber fork boasts a back-turned dropout that allows more vertical flex without affecting handling or braking.  Useful details are found on the Domane 5.2: An integrated 3S chain keeper. Removeable eyelets for full-wrap fenders. An aperure in the left chainstay for a DuoTrap speed/cadence sensor (sold separately). Internal cable routing for a clean look and cleaner cables.

Shimano's redesigned 11-speed Ultegra 6800 components are found throughout the Domane 5.2. With a new, lighter 50/34T compact crankset and 11-28T Ultegra cassette, the Domane's gearing range is ready for a day full of steep climbs and sweeping descents. New dual-control levers feature an adjustable reach and a lighter shifting action for smaller hands. Shimano's Ultegra derailleurs are built with tighter tolerances for longer component life, and the multi-pivot brake calipers offer improved brake lever feedback. Bontrager's alloy Race wheels are tubeless-ready and are shod with 25mm R3 hard-Case Lite tires. Bontrager also supplies the Paradigm R saddle, Race Lite IsoZone road handlebar and Race X Lite stem.

A discounted bike fit session with a member of our helpful and knowledgeable staff is included with the purchase of this bicycle. Components can be substituted at an additional cost. Please call for details.
