Cyclocross has grown across the country, and Giant's Liv line has responded with a capable machine in the Brava SLR. But that isn't the only thing it's good at...
A cyclocross bike is not only an excellent competition machine, it can serve as a performance commuter, gravel race machine, or as a "rainy day" bicycle. The Brava SLR starts with a refined geometry, allowing the rider to handle the bike in tight turns as well as high-speed descents. An aggressive fit puts enough of the rider's weight on the handlebars to corner in soft mud, but not limit the bike's ability to fit a wide range of riders. The bottom bracket is slightly higher than a road bike, keeping the rider's feet out of deep mud. Clearance for wide tires (and sticky mud build-up!) let the rider choose the right rubber for the day's riding or racing. A tapered OverDrive steerer tube reduces flex in the fork and frame, keeping the Brava SLR pointed where you want it. The bike's carbon fiber Composite fork blades soak up fatiguiing vibration, keeping the rider fresher over many miles of riding. The Brava SLR is also equipped with a D-Fuse seatpost. This seatpost is shaped to allow vertical flex to cancel out hard bumps like railroad track crossings. Hidden rack mounts add a bit of versatility to the Brava SLR.
Shimano's latest 11-speed version of their 105 shifters and derailleurs handle drivetrain duties. Adjustable-reach levers, easier front shifting and lighter components make the Brava SLR perform beautifully, even in the worst of conditions. An FSA Omega 36/46T 'cross-gearing crankset helps deliver power to the rear wheel, while an 11-28T Shimano cassette offers a wide gearing range for roller-coaster courses. Braking duties are handled with a pair of TRP Spyre-C disc brake calipers and 160mm rotors. Alloy SX-2 disc-specific wheels are shod with knobby 33mm Maxxis Mud Wrestler tires for confident grip in a wide range of conditions. An alloy Connect stem, Connect handlebar and Liv Contact saddle complete this rugged high-performance machine.
