A mountain bike you can race on needs to have a strong chassis, and Trek's Superfly 6 has exactly that: An Alpha Platinum aluminum frame with plenty of torsional strength for flex-free power delivery. A press-fit PF89.5 bottom bracket and E2 tapered head tube keep the Superfly 6 feeling solid while not adding significant weight. Closed Convert rear dropouts keep the rear wheel tracking cleanly in rough terrain while eliminating brake rub. Internal cable routing keep the Superfly looking clean and sleek, while different wheel sizes -depending on frame size- allow a wider range of riders to fit easily.
The Superfly 6 uses an air-adjustable RockShox Reba RL suspension fork that provides 100mm of suspension travel over rock gardens and root "fun houses". A Motion Control remote lockout lever gives you suspension when you need it, and none when you don't. A 15mm thru-axle enhances front-end steering precision.
SRAM's 10-speed GX shifters and derailleurs operate smoothly in messy conditions and respond with precision during hard pedaling loads. A SRAM GX 1000 36/22T crankset and Shimano 11-36T cassette offer a huge gearing range for roller-coaster singletrack. Bontrager's alloy Mustang 29'er wheels are tubeless-ready and are wrapped with 2.20" tubeless-ready XR1 knobby tires for confident grip in the dirt. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes help keep speed reigned in, even in wet and muddy conditions. An alloy Bontrager handlebar, stem, seatpost and Evoke 2 saddle complete this race-ready machine.
