For every pothole, bad pavement transition, and lousy patch-job seen on rods around the world, Felt has a new machine to smoothe them out. Meet the new VR40. Felt's experience with terrible pavement stretches back to their time supplying bikes to the Slipstream-Garmin team when they charges across the legendary pave' at Paris-Roubaix. With Felt's shaped and hydroformed FLite aluminum frame tubes, the VR40 can put up with all manner of bad vibrations. With plenty of vertical compliance, the VR40 soaks up nasty surfaces over every mile. The VR40 also boasts thru-axles front and rear that not only helps align the disc brakes perfectly every time, it also enhances torsional stiffness for awesome pedaling response. Handling is also improved, providing the VR40 with a more precise feel. A BB386 press-fit bottom bracket anchors the crankset for flex-free power delivery. A ControlTaper head tube/steerer tube adds further stiffness for improved control under braking and fast corners. With a more upright fit, the VR40 accommodates a wider range of riders and rider flexibilities. Oh, and it also has three bottlle mounts.

Shimano's latest version of their Tiagra shifters and derailleurs allow for even faster gear changes at your fingertips. With adjustable lever reach and faster front shifting with less effort, the VR40's offers a better shfting experience than many competitors at this price point. An FSA Vero Pro crankset with 48/32T rings and an 11-34T Shimano cassette brings some of the easiest gearing for steep inclines found on most road bikes today. The VR40's alloy tubeless-ready VR 19 wheels are shod with 700x28mm Vittoria Zaffiro tires for improved ride quality and confident grip. Reigning in speed is the job of a pair of cable-operated disc brakes. Consistant braking performance -rain or shine- makes the VR40's disc brakes the best choice in all weather. An alloy road handlebar, carbon fiber seat post and Felt saddle complete the cockpit of this enduring machine.
