With huge 4.0"-wide knobby tires, there's very little the Farley 24 can't conquer. While monster-truck tires certainly have their appeal, there's plenty more to the Farley 24. The Farley 24 boasts a lightweight Alpha Gold aluminum frame, keeping weight low, and encouragement high. A tapered E2 head tube -normally found on adult bikes- anchors the fork for better handling on rough trails. Even the fork itself is Trek's own Alpha Platinum aluminum for light weight and a direct feel. Trek made sure the touchpoints were comfy for little shredders, so the handlebar grips are slimmer, the saddle is smaller and even the pedals work better with smaller feet. The Farley 24 is equipped with a single-ring 32T alloy crankset and a 12-36T 9-speed Shimano rear cassette, boasting a wide gearing range for smaller riders. A Shimano shifter and Shimano Alivio rear derailleur make for easy operation for smaller hands, while adjustable-reach brake levers make braking second-nature. Speaking of stopping, the Farley 24 boasts Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, ensuring confident stopping power in all conditions, wet or dry. There's plenty of adjustability with the Bontrager alloy seatpost, allowing the bike to adjust to a growing rider. An alloy handlebar and accessory-ready Blendr alloy stem completes this all-season adventure bike.
