Before plus-size mountain bikes, an all-day off-road adventure needed a machine that was heavy and complex. With the right geometry -Gary Fisher's brilliant G2 geometry to be precise- and a lightweight frame with extra-wide 29'er tires, the Stache breaks new ground. The Stache 7's Alpha Platinum aluminum frame is a brilliant chassis that can transfer power and handle like a dream. An E2 tapered head tube adds a precise handling feel, while a rigid PF92 press-fit bottom bracket helps transfer power from the crankset. The Stache 7's rear triangle features adjustable Stranglehold thru-axle rear dropouts, allowing for wheelbase and geometry adjustments with the turn of an allen wrench. The Stache 7's Boost 110/148 hub spacing, along with thru-axles front and rear, keep the bike's SunRingle Mulefut wheels laterally stiff for precise handling in challenging terrain. Useful details like asymmetrical chainstays that allow wider tires, internal cable routing and a short standover height make the Stache 7 a machine for fun and adventure.

The rest of the bike can keep up with the Stache 7's excellent frame and wheels just fine. An air-adjustable Manitou Magnum 34 Comp suspension fork helps keep the front tire planted with 120mm of travel, making runs through rock gardens less perilous. Speaking of tires, the Stache 7 boasts 29x3.00" Bontrager Chupacabra tubeless-ready tires. With a huge footprint and aggressive tread, the Chupacabras can handle dirt, sand, mud, snow and slush with ease. SRAM's 11-speed GX shifter and GX rear derailleur handle shifting operations, while a 10-42T SRAM cassette and SRAM X1 30T direct-mount crankset offer a huge gearing range for challenging trails and inclines. Helping to reign in speed in wet and muddy conditions is the job of SRAM's Level T hydraulic disc brakes. Bontrager's alloy seatpost is topped with an Evoke 3 saddle, while an alloy Rhythm Elite handlebar, alloy Rhythm Comp stem complete this new adventure machine.
