Trek has made it their mission to make their lightest bikes even lighter, and the new 2018 Emonda SL 6 Pro is a perfect example. Trek's exclusive 500 Series OCLV carbon fiber is used throughout the frame of the Emonda SL 6 Pro. Not only is it lightweight, but an impressive ride quality is achieved with a Ride Tuned seatmast and cap system, giving the bike a smoother feel over rough pavement. A tapered E2 head tube and BB90 bottom bracket add to the torsional strength of the Emonda SL 6 Pro, providing precise handling and impressive pedaling response. Even the fork is an all-carbon unit, reducing weight further. The addition of direct-mount Bontrager Speed Stop brake calipers add better lever feedback for precise stopping power.
Shimano's latest 8000-series version of their venerable Ultegra components is a welcome addition to the Emonda SL 6 Pro. With redesigned levers, a Shadow+ rear derailleur, lighter front derailleur, 50/34T compact crankset and 11-28T cassette, Shimano has raised the bar in high-performance components. Bontager's new Aeolus Pro 3 carbon fiber wheels reduce the rotating weight by an astonishing amount, allowing the bike to leap away from corners and accellerate swiftly. They're tubless-ready, and are shod with 700x25c Bontrager R2 Hard-Case Lite tires.
An alloy Bontrager VR-C road handlebar, alloy Blendr stem and Bontrager Montrose saddle complete this lightweight marvel.
