Montague BMW Folding Mountain Bicycle
Great steal folding bike from BMW. Needs some work but looks great.
This auction is for a used Montague BMW Active Line Folding Bicycle. Through component dating we've managed to narrow the manufacturing date down to pre-1997 as the shifters are the Sachs gripshift vs. Sram (who purchased/incorporated Sachs in 1997). Features a 4130 Chromoly steel folding Montague frame, manufactured in Taiwan, this bike was considered part of their "active line" of folding bikes. This is the same frame style as the more nicely spec'd 1996 Olympic special edition that Montague released with a Special paint job. The frame is in good condition and has only a few minor aesthetic defects. Font shifter and crank work nicely however the right Sachs shifter does not move and appears to be frozen, upon pulling the rear derailleur cable the derailleur moves up and down the gears fine so the shifter will either need repair or replacement. Brakes work fine and provide plenty of stopping power, and the wheels spin smooth and will only require minor truing to be perfectly straight. Head set is completely shot and will either need new bearings or a new headset altogether. Please see specifications below for sizing and equipped components.
