Details
You are buying a used vintage Ken Rogers Tandem Tricycle. Hand built from Reynolds 531 Tandem tubes in Rogers Hounslow England based shop, this bicycle features extremely high quality polished wields, fastback style seat stays, a rich deep orange paint job (still has a nice deep luster) and a sturdy built in platform rack for distance touring. As with all of Ken Rogers tricycles this bicycle features an entirely custom rear drive axle which powers the non-drive side rear wheel. This particular area of design was a prominent draw to purchasing a Ken Rogers tandem and his system was so well designed that he also manufactured conversion kits for standard bicycle. Complimenting the high quality frame construction is a variety of high quality components. Braking power is provided by a unique dual front brake set as well as a rear disk brake. This model was made with the serious tandem tricycle enthusiast in mind. We believe this bicycle to be from 1982 due to what appears to be a fairly transparent serial code (KGRTT=Ken G Rogers Tandem Tricycle, 435=most likely the production number for that year, 82=1982), we could be mistaken in this but the components date to right around this period as well so it makes sense that it was pretty close to this period. This bike has been a display piece in our shop for years now and was recently brought down and thoroughly re-greased and tuned by one of our shops mechanics so once re-assembled this bike will ride like new.
The only issues: very minor paint chips on the frame; a little scuff on one of the seats; the lack of bar tape on the rear handlebars; toe clips are broken. See photographs for details.
