This auction is for a Vintage Flying Star womens bicycle.  This is a step through design balloon tire bicycle.  From the research we have done, we have narrowed the year of manufacture to about 1935.  This bicycle seems mostly original, except for the Elgin chainguard.  The tires are good and hold air.  Its a rider, and mostly needs work on the cosmetics - chrome is rough on the bars/stem, paint is rough.  The seat is good, but has a tear on the top.  Hubs and wheels are good.  Seatpost is free and was greased.  Notice the holes in the rear fender for a skirt/dress guard.

Great bike, excellent for a full restore.

Seatpost - steel (not hollow), forward facing - not frozen

Saddle - Troxel springer in great shape - small rip on the top of the saddle

Stem - Flat 60mm stem, chrome is rough

Handlebars - 19.5" width, chrome is rough, grips are white 4.5" long and starting to split 

Crankset - 1 piece steel, with 4 circle chainring - skiptooth

Chain - skiptooth, in good shap

Pedals - worn block style, 3.5"

hubs - New Departure front and rear,  Model D coaster brake skiptooth rear.  The rear brake arm reads " New Departure Model D"

rims - drop center balloon tire, 26", no name, painted to match - might have chrome underneath.  Missing a spoke on the front

Tires - Carlisle Lightning Dart 26 x 2.125 tires, in excellent shape, very little cracking

***The chainguard seems to be an Elgin custom fit to this bike.
