This is a Vintage 1948 Columbia 5 Star Superb balloon tire bicycle.  This bicycle has not been tuned and will need some mechanical work done before its rideable.  The paint is in decent shape but isn't quite show worthy.  The handlebars and the rims are showing rust and not much chrome.  The wheels are not rideable as is and will need the most work.  Expect to have them rebuilt.  The New Departure model D coaster brake spins well, but doesn't have a snappy stop to it -  it still stops, but not very quickly.  The bars need a rechrome too, but aren't bent and seem original.
