This auction is for a Vintage 1941 Arnold Schwinn Admiral women's balloon tire bicycle.  Please note the chainline adjusters, frame mounted seat bolt, welded fork truss braces, train style fender headlight, and bolt on kickstand.  All lead to a pre-war dating.  The fenders, frame, and forks are all in excellent shape, with little to no rust and very few scratches.  The pinstriping is also in excellent shape, with both the red and white colors showing excellent on almost the entire surface.  Rust is starting to form on the rims and fender braces, but not on the bike itself.  Even the chainguard is dent free and almost scratch free.  The bike seems mostly original - as original as a pre-war bike can be.  Headbadge also is in great shape.

This bike would be a great project with very little effort.  Paint is great, all the parts are mostly original (and in good shape). 

The right Elgin grip is cracked off on the end. 

The Admiral is definitely rideable with a quick tune-up.

Saddle - Messinger B Delux 4, black leather spring saddle, will need to be recovered as the original cover is ripped and losing its edges - very rideable though

Crankset - steel drop forged Ashtabula style crank, 4 hole style chainring

Pedals - Streamlined Persons Majestic MFG Co, great pedals with some wear and some surface rust, definitely usable, womens 3.5"

hubs - New Departure Model D coaster brake rear hub, Schwinn script front hub, both chromed steel, work fine, but would suggest (as always) a rebuild on both
rims - steel balloon style rims, 26", white with 2 black pinstripes, showing some rust and will need a repaint
