This auction is for a Vintage 1947 Monark Silver king Bicycle.  Aluminum tubing constructed using "mushroomed" tubes and chromed steel fork blades and front suspension.  Aesthetically the frame is in pretty good condition and has a nice patina from over the years.  The bike is unfortunately not all original.  The fenders are loose and have seen better days sporting many dings and dents, they are also missing the front and rear lamps/accent pieces.  The original rack is unfortunately missing and the front wheel appears to have been replaced as the front hub is an Elgin hub and the front rim has an angular braking surface as apposed to the more gentle curve of the rear rim.  The crank is the original crank and the block pedals appear to be the original but the axles appear to be bent and the bearing are definitely loose.  Saddle appears to be original or at least the proper era but is not marked are branded in any way.  Tires match and appear to be original.  Both front and rear are fully functional.  The bike is almost rideable but will require some small drive train tuning/lubricating to get back to fully operational.  Very cool bike and with a little tlc and elbow grease would make for a great project bike.  Manufactured in Chicago Illinois USA by Monark-Silverking.
