This is a Vintage Peugeot UO8 all purpose road style bicycle. This bicycle was mostly likely produced in the early 1970's, probably 1973 or so. This bicycle is all original down to the tires, rear rack, fenders, and bell. The bike is indeed needing a full restore, as its is dirty, dusty, corroded (in parts, no rearl through the frame rust though). The UO8 was made as an all purpose road racer, and came stock with a generator light kit for both the front and back lights. It also came stock with a rear rat trap style rack, a stem mounted bell, and a great aluminum Simplex chainguard. Also stock was the Huret wingnuts in place of bolts/QR's. With a bit of work, this bike would make a great classic commuter and fun bike.
*** Notice the detail on the lugs on the front of the bike. The lugs are painted black with nice cutouts that really show off against the blue frame.
*** The high flange hubs with the wingnuts really give the bike some classic flair.
The fenders are bent up, but are aluminum and should come back to life with some work. The rear fender light has a broken red lens. Front light seems ok but we haven't tested the generator system.
All chrome and aluminum will need polishing, with the cranks in the worst shape.
