You could be the proud owner of this vintage used Gitane Defi road bicycle. Produced for the 1985 model year it is a unique piece of French bicycle nostalgia. Gitane was a huge contributor to the “bike boom” in the USA during the early 1970s and along with some other manufacturers introduced the first truly affordable lightweight racing bicycles to the American public.

BIKE CONDITION

The bike appears to be all original with the exceptions of the bar tape, saddle, and possibly tires. The Smokey Purple paint is in very good shape with minimal scratches, chips or marks. There are no major dents, bends or cracks.

This bike rides, shifts and brakes well but will need a full tune up before being ready to hit the road. The wheels will need some attention from a skilled mechanic as they could use some truing before a long ride.
