You are buying a vintage used GT All-Terra Avalanche mountain bike.
Hand built by Toyo in Japan, this bicycle features solid TiG wielded construction and triple triangle technology from Tange Prestige double butted tubesets. This was the first model year that GT made mountain bikes available and to do so they went to the builders for both Ritchey and Rocky Mountain bikes (Toyo produced models for both companies between 1983 and 1986), and the quality shows. Toyo still hand builds some extremely beautiful and quality bikes out of Japan to this day.
This model also features internal cable routing for the rear brake. This bike appears to be mostly original although the catalog photos do have this bike sporting a GT Power Series crank set (3 piece BMX style, or more like modern day road and mountain cranks). This bike is in excellent shape and only suffers some minor pings to the finish here and there and some minor aesthetic wear on the decals. Please see photographs for details.
