Details
You are buying a vintage Viscount road bike. This Viscount bike was built by Trusty of England in the late 1970s.
The bike's frame is made from "Aerospace grade" steel, straight gauge tubing. It measures 60cm, has a blue and silver paint job that is in good shape and is surprisingly light. The original Aluminum "death fork" has been replaced with a steel one.
Components on this bike appear mostly original; a Tange "Loose Proof" headset, sunshine stem, Lambert levers (hoods have some cracks), Viscount center-pull brakes, Shimano down tube shifters, Shimano Titlist front derailleur, and Shimano Crane rear derailleur. Some interesting bits, the bottom bracket has press-fit cartridge bearings and the outside chainring is a large, aluminum, Viscount specific one. Wheels are 27" Birmalux rims with Viscount high flange hubs.
Overall, the bike is ridable, although the chain may need replacing.
Viscount bikes are an interesting part of cycling history and are a great addition to any collection.
