1930's Wards Hawthorne Silver King Bicycle

This auction is for a Vintage 1936 Wards Hawthorne balloon tire bike with a Duralium frame (aluminum tube and lug frame).  This bike is basically a re-badged Monark Silver King.  No real differences other than the headbadge.  The frame is in great shape.  Definitely a great project bike as it came stock without a finish other than a shiny polish.
The bike is definitely rideable, no cracks in the frame and no real issues.  Most of the bike is original, but the blue gothic style fenders are not exactly stock - and they don't really fit in the bridges very well.  The seat and chainguard are both highly unlikely to be stock.
Includes the original centerstand.

Please note the awesome aluminum fork truss.  Only from Monark.

The baloon tire rims were painted white - most likely had some rust on it - you can see the overspray on the front tire.

The crank and handlebar (and frame lug design) place this bike in the upper half of the 1930's - 1936 is our best estimate.

***Please note the 2 holes in the rear unistay - for a rear rack?
