1948 Goodyear Double Eagle Bicycle

This is a vintage 1948 Goodyear Double Eagle balloon tire bicycle.  This frame has the S bend down tube, and a curved top tube.  The middle tube also has a slight curve to it - not much of one, but its there.   It does have the Goodyear headbadge in brass.  The bike has the Shockmaster front fork which is a little loose.  Lots of extra amateur paint on the bike, but it looks like the original paint was red.  Lots of enthusiastic overspray on the bike - seatpost, fork truss...  But under the red seems to be only more red.  No decals are visible whatsoever except for the headbadge, which, is mostly covered in red paint.

Missing, rear rack and maybe the tank... might be missing some other accessories.

Seatpost - straight post, skinny and solid

Saddle - my favorite Troxel saddle, you too can have an ugly and comfortable saddle, uniquely named the Troxel Cushion Comfort

Stem - quill style stem with a flat rise, losing chrome and seems to have been painted silver

Handlebars - extra wide 27" cruiser bars, looks to have been painted over the chrome at one time, not much chrome left

Headset - original, but showing some extra red paint

Crankset - 1 piece cranks with star in circle design chainring, ok chrome, but needs cleaning

Pedals - worn plastic block pedals, not original

hubs - New Departure W front, Komet rear coaster brake hub (not original)
rims - 26" balloon tire drop center rims, spray painted silver

1/2" chain moves but showing some rust, doesn't have to be replaced, just lubed
