Atala Record Pro

Atala was founded in Padua, Italy by Cesare Rizzato. Through the decades, the company moved back and forth between Padua and Milan until 2002 when all production was moved to their current home in Turkey. They were a premier racing bike through the early twentieth century, and the Atala racing team won the 1912 Giro d’Italia. Atala was one of a handful of Italian brands exported to the U.S. in the 1970s. While they offered a full range of bicycles starting just above a department store quality level, the Record Pro was a top of the line racing bike. It features chrome lugged Columbus tubes, Campagnolo dropouts, and Campagnolo Record parts. A sticker on the seat tube proudly proclaims: “hand made in Italy”. 1971 Made in Milan, Italy
