Badger safety bicycle
Badger safety cycle made in Madison WI c.1896
The Badger Cycle Company was founded here, in Madison in 1895. The company must have never found great success, as they filed for bankrupcy in 1898. The previous owner of this bicycle believed their shop was on State St., but we have not been able to confirm this. In any case, the bicycle was certainly made in Madison, and is a fantastic piece of local history in one of the great cycling cities of the U.S.
