You are buying a used old school moto styled BMX bike from the late 1970's. This bike is a great example of the motorcross influence on the early BMX scene. Rear dual shock suspension, heavy duty wheels, drum brakes front and rear, off road style grips, knobby tires, and the semi banana all moto saddle. Everything was styled after the motorcycles of that era - the bicycles were even sold at motorcycle dealers.
This bicycle has some miles on it but looks mostly original. It is missing the chainguard. The XR-3 has 3 speeds using a Suntour Honor rear derailleur and a 3 speed freewheel. The bike's suspension is a single swingarm style with a spring shock mounted on each chainstay - very 1970's moto.
This MX-3 has orange paint with several scratches/mars. The orange is also starting to fade out on the top of the top tube. Also, the seat has a rip on it and the oversize seatpost has a slight rearward bend. Chrome is good, especially on the rims. The tires are starting to show some wear but seem to be original.
Arai drum brakes, front and rear, with a 3 speed freewheel and Suntour Honor rear derailleur. The shifter is a basic top mount thumbshifter.
The rims are Ukai heavy duty 20" chromed steel, with heavy duty spokes. Mounted on the rims are Carlisle 20x2.125 bmx/moto style knobby tires.
The front pad is missing the cover. Also, the fenders are different colors, black in the front and silver in the rear.
