Montgomery Ward Open Road Bicycle

This is a Vintage Montgomery Ward Road Amateur Athletic Union of the United States edition road bicycle.  Appears to be quite similar to the Open Road model that Montgomery Ward made in the 1970's with the addition of an "aero" head tube foil spot welded between the top tube and down tube and aero internal cable routing.  The bike is features a 2x5 Shimano Positron shifting system, and 26" Wheels.  This bike is a light beige color.  Bike has some minor surface  corrosion and has not been tuned up.  Bike will most likely need a complete overhaul before it is fully functional again.  From all indicators it appears to have been made in the mid to late 1970's to early 1980's but there is very little information out there on these bikes.
