Vintage Gents Mercury Roadster Bicycle
Black vintage cruiser! Take a look!
This auction is for a Vintage Gents style 24" Roadster bicycle. No markings, other than the serial number are on the bike. This model is a coaster brake style, without any braze-ons for rod brakes. The bike most closely resembles a 1940's Mercury. The lugs, fork crown, headset lamp bracket, pedal, and fenders all are very similar to the Mercury Roadster. Some of the Mercury's even have the same Williams / Magistroni crank/chainring.
This bike is missing most of the chaincase. The paint is in rough shape, and the rear fender has been repainted black. The front fender has gold pinstriping in the shape of a square. The white on the bottom of the rear fender was painted over in black, but is now showing through. The cranks and bar/stem are a silver paint. The only chrome is from the Musselman rear hub and the fork crown.
No headbadge or decals on the bike whatsoever.
The 28" rims are painted black with the gold pin-striping to match the front fender. The fenderstays, seatpost, seat frame, rear rack, front hub, and most of the bolts are painted black.
The mattress style saddle is covered in brown leather - wearing through. No name on the saddle.
