Founded in 1866 as a horse harness and general leather goods company, In 1882, John Boultbee Brooks began cycling to work, and found his seat to be very uncomfortable. His solution was to create a better saddle through suspended leather. Bicyclists everywhere were (and indeed still are) eternally grateful. Originally producing saddles and bags in Birmingham, Brooks moved to their present location in Smethwick in the West Midlands of England in 1962. Brooks has held fast to their heritage. They still produce many models of saddles and bags which were patented in the 19th century. In addition to handmade saddles, they also make some of the most gorgeous and functional bags and accessories on the market. Add instant class to any bicycle with Brooks!
