The original color was called "rust". The color of this bicycle is actually in fairly good shape. The paint is definitely starting to show some rust peeking through in spots - but not through the frame. Just the surface starter rust. The clay color is very apparent on the downtube and other parts of the bike, especially the originally painted inside of the horn tank which still shows its original luster.
The tank is in great shape and includes the horn. There is no rust whatsoever on the inside of the tank - it looks very new on the inside. Does include the 3 D size Ever-ready batteries which are marketed as "leakproof" - guess they were right. 9 lives, probably not, leakproof, yes.
The frame has only a single tube between the down and top tubes.
This bike would make a great rider or a decent showpiece. The bike definitely needs a tune-up, especially some wheel truing and some overhauling of bearings.
Missing the chainguard, rear light lens, and the top of the front Delta light. White grips probably not original.
Tires are not original. The tires that are on the bike now are almost unridden Coast to Coast sold tires - Coast King, in great and almost new condition. Still have the original stickers on them. Blackwall 26x 2.125
rims - dropcenter steel rims, once shiny but showing mostly rust, will need some work - not much chrome left on the front, a little more on the rear
